Guy H. Troupe is the Executive Director of The Sports Professionals Foundation (SPF), the non profit arm of Sports Professionals, Inc. SPF serves the career development and transition needs of active and former professional athletes, NCAA student athletes, and high school student athletes. The organization researches athlete transition issues, produces and provides educational tools and programs, professional networking events, delivers association member communications, and provides career coaching services to players seeking career transition support on a nationwide basis.

As a former college football student-athlete at Wichita State University and Howard University, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard in Sociology and received his Masters of Education Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Howard. Formerly employed as a counselor with Associated Catholic Charities and the District of Columbia Public Schools, Troupe launched a career in athletics administration as the recipient of a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) internship in 1991.

From August 1992 to June 1997, he served as an NCAA enforcement representative responsible for investigating NCAA rules infractions. He was also heavily involved in developing the NCAA’s Top Prospect Program to educate prospective and enrolled college athletes about NCAA legislation and counseling elite men’s and women’s basketball and football student-athletes regarding ways to maintain college eligibility while matriculating towards an undergraduate degree.

In July 1997, Troupe accepted a position with the National Football League (NFL) as the League’s Director of Player Programs. He was responsible for all phases of personnel management, program development and evaluation of the NFL’s career transition, player assistance and training and development programs. Troupe was promoted to Senior Director for Player and Employee Development in 2002 and recently chaired the NFL’s Diversity Council and the Player Development Steering Committee.

Troupe is completing his Doctorate in Organizational Development and Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University and is the founder of Troupe 21, a consulting firm that specializes in delivering keynote addresses, presentations, and professional development workshops.
