Bold Vision Statement - 2005

We are the acknowledged source for active and former professional athletes to obtain the necessary ideas, information, tools, and skills to secure a satisfying and rewarding career outside of professional sports.

Our Business Focus: (con't)

At Sports Professionals, we also recognize that during your transition, you and your families emotions will run high, and low (like an emotional roller coaster). In some cases, finances will not be an issue and you will have time to sort things out for yourself. For others who have not been in the league long, or who played in a league that paid minimal wages (ie. MLS), finances will also be a concern. Either way, a new career game plan and decisive strategy is needed for you, your family, and your future, to ease the fears of the moment, and help you manage your expectations. At SPI, we designed our training and services to address these concerns.

Finally, our transition approach is intended to follow an athlete throughout his or her working life, not just at the moment of separation from his or her sport. While there are specific tools and techniques that need to be embraced early on in an athletes transition, there are also new tools and new strategies that will be needed to succeed after 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years of working in a new profession or business. Our experience with athletes is they are used to winning, and setting big goals. It would be nice to know that you have a resource to go to, a partner - an executive coach along the way, as you begin this new “career journey”. In time, you will also have the opportunity to become the coach for other rookie’s making the transition.
