Who You Know
Well, that is true to a certain
extent as your career progresses, but the more skills you
get in a particular profession, the more you will be evaluated
on what you know, verses who you know. However, as a new
rookie to the game of transitioning outside of sports, who
you know is certainly the name of the game. The reason:
Because in most cases you will have little off the

field
job experience to lean on as you begin your job search,
and you need people who understand that you have transferable
skills and who will give you a chance to play in their
game. People who understand that with the right training
and coaching, you will soon be breaking records in their
company, their industry, just as you did the past 15-20
years in sports.
